Dear Brothers & Sisters:
It has been brought to the Union’s attention that SDMs and/or non-
Bargaining Unit Personnel are continuing to perform Bargaining Unit
work at some sites.
Article 2.01 of the Collective Agreement recognizes the Union as the
sole Bargaining Agent for all employees of G4S Secure Solutions, at
the eleven (11) airports throughout the Region certified by the IAM &
AW. This means that SDMs cannot Bargain with the employees directly
for consent to perform Bargaining Unit work.
The Collective Agreement states, “All work within the scope of this
Agreement shall be performed only by Members of the Union.” Any
violation of this provision needs to be documented and grieved, as
required.
The Company has previously been notified of our concerns and we will
again ask that they provide direction and instruction to all SDMs to
immediately cease and desist performance of Bargaining Unit work and
to stop attempting to seek consent from the Membership to perform
Bargaining Unit work.
