LIEU DAY MEMO

Unfortunately due to the complexity of the Lieu day bidding paper bids will not be available. Bids will only be accepted by phone or in person.
The bidding will start on January 5, 2015 and will be conducted in the Union Office room 4212 – 4th floor Domestic Terminal Building phone number 604-303-0461. Please check list for dates and times.
Lieu days are day for day and will be bid by seniority. Once a stat holiday has passed, you will no longer be able to take the day in lieu.
Due to the late bidding of the Lieu days if you are planning on using Christmas Day 2014, Boxing Day 2014, or New Years 2015 as Lieu days you must complete the form at Manpower planning office prior to December 27, 2014 failure to complete will result in these days being paid and will be unavailable to bid.
Please be advised that as per the CBA, article 19, an employee must work their scheduled shift immediately preceding and their scheduled shift immediately following the Statutory Holiday. These shifts are “Obligatory Shifts”. You must work these obligatory shifts in order to qualify for a day in LIEU.
