Answering your questions for a #BetterBC
People across our province have had their lives turned upside down by COVID-19. As 2020 draws to a close, Premier John Horgan wants to know how you’re doing – and he wants to answer your questions about his government’s response to the pandemic.
Who’s eligible for the BC Recovery Benefit? How can we better protect seniors? Whatever your question is, John wants to hear it. And early next year, we’ll be sharing some of your questions – and John’s answers – on social media and the BC NDP blog. Thanks to supporters like you, we won a historic election. But the next four years will be challenging as John Horgan’s government works to build a recovery that truly benefits all British Columbians – not just those at the top.
At the BC NDP, we’ll be doing everything we can to support John’s team. But we need your help. We’re going all out to hit our critical end-of-year fundraising target – and, with less than two weeks left, we still haven’t reached our goal. Chip in today and get up to 75% back at tax time. British Columbians have been paying too much for car insurance. But with the introduction of ICBC’s new coverage plan next spring, drivers will save an average of about $400 – BC’s largest decrease in insurance rates for more than 40 years.
On top of that, we’ll keep pushing for an extra COVID-19 rebate to give money directly to drivers. Add your name today if you support our work to create a more affordable auto insurance system with better care benefits for British Columbians. Last week, BC’s COVID-19 vaccine deployment plan was announced – and this week, the first British Columbians were immunized. Doses will continue to arrive in BC over the coming weeks, and a system that will make it easy to register for immunization is in development.
The full timeline for widespread immunization will depend on vaccine approval and availability – with a rigorous safety and efficacy process in place. As the details of the deployment plan continue to develop, please keep following all provincial health orders and advice. As Premier Horgan said, announcing the plan: “Hope is on the horizon. It won’t be overnight and we must continue to do our part to protect each other, but this is a huge step in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.” New Democratic Party of British Columbia |
