Let’s keep each other safe for a #BetterBC
The people of BC have made incredible sacrifices to keep our families and communities safe. But a small minority of selfish individuals are breaking the COVID-19 rules.
That’s why your BC NDP government has introduced tough $2,000+ fines for businesses and party-goers who won’t play by the rules to help BC’s recovery.
We can’t stand by and let a small number of people put us all at risk. Those who break the rules should pay the price. Do you agree? Then add your name today.
Recent months have truly brought home the importance of secure jobs and safe working conditions for everyone. When you’re relaxing this Labour Day, take a moment to remember the many people in BC who have fought – and continue to fight – for workers’ rights.
Your BC NDP government is fighting that fight to support the working people of our province. We know there’s much more to be done, but we’ve made a lot of progress since 2017 – and we intend to ensure good jobs and workers’ rights are protected throughout this crisis and beyond.
We think Premier John Horgan has been doing a fantastic job through some pretty tough times and we couldn’t be prouder of his smart, compassionate leadership.
So, we were delighted to see that John’s coalition partner and former BC Green Party leader Andrew Weaver had some very kind words to say about the Premier this week.
Speaking about our province’s future, he said: “British Columbia would benefit from having Mr. Horgan as Premier. He’s clearly indicated to me that he cares deeply, profoundly about people.”
Labour Day may be coming up but it’s not your last chance for summer fun. Our innovative virtual fundraisers will be keeping that summer feeling alive right through September, offering plenty more chances to support our MLAs and socialize safely with your fellow New Democrats.
Coming up, we’ve got a fun-filled evening of trivia with Carole James and Judy Darcy, the chance to learn how to knit alongside Delta North MLA Ravi Kahlon, and a big quiz night with the Richmond-Steveston BC NDP.
BC students will return to in-class learning this month. To help keep everyone safe, special health and safety measures have been brought in, funding has been increased for protective equipment like masks, and a new system of “learning groups” has been created.
To make sure parents and students have access to all the information they need, details of BC’s Back to School Plan are available online. Questions or concerns? Visit the provincial government’s site to find everything you need to know.
