Every worker needs paid sick leave political action
We are all facing the COVID-19 crisis together.
Yet, we don’t all have the same rights.
In fact, across Canada, some workers can access paid sick leave and others cannot. This is wrong.

The federal government has reacted to this pandemic. It has introduced various measures to support workers who need it most, including:
- EI Emergency Care Benefit: Available to those who are sick and have to quarantine or self-isolate. The amount distributed will be comparable to EI.
- COVID-19 Emergency Support Benefit: Available to those who have faced layoff, including those who are self-employed.
- One-time boost to the Canada Child Benefit.
- One-time top-up payment to low-income individuals and families through the GST credit.
