Responding to COVID-19
The most important part of our work is protecting people. That’s why our government has declared a state of emergency during the COVID-19 outbreak.
We’re working with our federal government partners to prevent the spread of the virus, and to take measures that will ease economic pressure on those impacted by this outbreak.
Please take care of yourselves, and do what you can to help others in your community. Get the latest, most accurate information from the BCCDC.
As our government continues working to protect the health and economic security of British Columbians, John Horgan expressed his gratitude to the people making a difference at this time:
“Whether you work in healthcare, stock grocery store shelves, or help keep one of the many other essential services going for British Columbians: Thank you!”
“By doing what’s right, staying calm, and looking out for one another, we’ll discover how strong we are when we work together.”
This past Thursday, March 19 marked both the first day of spring and Nowruz – commonly known as Persian New Year.
John Horgan: “Nowruz is a time of renewal that embraces new beginnings while old chapters close. This year, many families may choose to celebrate Nowruz differently as people take precautionary steps to protect their health and the health of others.”
“No matter how people choose to celebrate Nowruz this year, I wish you a joyous new year blessed with health, happiness, and prosperity. Norouzetan Pirouz!”
