SHIFT TRADES & SHIFT GIVE AWAYS
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
A grievance was filed by the Union asserting that the Company was violating the provisions of Article 17.12 by not approving shift trades and shift give aways between Screening Officers and Lead Screeners.
We are pleased to advise that the Company and the Union have reached a settlement concerning this matter.
Effective immediately, Screening Officers and Lead Screeners may engage in shift trades and shift give aways with each other, where the criteria outlined in Clause 17.12 is met and the Lead Screener is not already scheduled to perform post certification on the job training duties on the date(s) affected.
In accordance with the provisions of Clause 17.12, when an employee on their days off agrees to work for another employee, that employee shall be paid their normal straight time wage for that day, regardless of classification or wage progression.
Please be guided accordingly.
In Solidarity,
Tania Canniff, General Chairperson
Transportation District 140, IAMAW
