Dear Sisters and Brothers:
As early as tomorrow, COPE 378 may commence job action against Enterprise Car Rental (National/Alamo) at the Vancouver Airport Main and South terminal locations, as well as at the airport administrative office of National and Alamo. They are in a legal strike position as of 9:00 am, Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
Should picketing commence, it will be limited to the counter locations of National/Alamo at the Main and South terminals of Vancouver Airport, to the Return Aisles at the same locations, and to the Administrative Office at 3862 MacDonald Road.
Unions affected will include, but not necessarily be limited to, those representing mail delivery, couriers, electrical, and telephone (Telus). Airport workers and airport operations should not be affected.
COPE 378 asks that unions representing affected workers notify their members and ask them to respect the line where possible. Please also provide the appropriate contact information for your union to Michael Gardiner at mgardiner@bcfed.ca, so that COPE 378 officials may contact you in the event of a difficulty at the line.
Unions who have booked rentals through the airport locations of National/Alamo are requested to make alternate arrangements until the matter is settled.
COPE 378 contacts are Glen McInnes 604-299-0378 (o) and604-690-8684 (c), or Cathy Hirani at 604-299-0378.
In solidarity,
