On March 4 and March 5, members of the IAM Local 16 Executive Board came together for a comprehensive site visit to the YYJ base. The delegation included IAM L16 President Rick Singh, Secretary Treasurer Neil Chia, Conductor Sentinel and Communicator John Vincent, Line Trustee Matt Sergent from the YYJ Victoria base, and YYJ Victoria Chief Shop Steward Scott Milburn.
Over the course of two days, the team connected with a significant number of members at the base, fostering meaningful discussions about the union’s structure, levels, and processes. This initiative provided a valuable opportunity to not only share knowledge and educate members on the union’s role but also to hear firsthand the concerns and challenges faced by those at the YYJ base.
These interactions underline the union’s commitment to staying connected with its membership, addressing their issues directly, and continuing to build a stronger, more engaged IAM Local 16 community.
