For too long, people in Maple Ridge, Surrey, and other growing communities around the province have struggled to get the healthcare they need, when they need it.<\/p>\n

Last week, Premier John Horgan joined MLAs Lisa Beare and Bob D\u2019Eith to announce a permanent urgent and primary care center in Maple Ridge and a new cancer centre in Surrey.<\/p>\n

The Premier sat down with Maple Ridge News to discuss how these centres will give people better access to care \u2013 and create healthcare and construction jobs in our communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A strong economy means good jobs for people everywhere. A lot of people lost work due to COVID-19, but there are positive signs of a strong long-term recovery.<\/p>\n

As our restart plan continues, the latest Labour Force Survey shows BC has recovered about 58% of the jobs lost in March and April \u2013 but we still have a long way to go.<\/p>\n

Jobs Minister Michelle Mungall: \u201cAs we navigate our way through this unprecedented challenge, our government will continue to work on a recovery that benefits all British Columbians.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
