The people of British Columbia have done a tremendous job helping our BC NDP government flatten the curve of COVID-19. Premier John Horgan has announced we\u2019re moving into phase three of BC\u2019s Restart Plan \u2013 our gradual approach to re-opening the province\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

During phase three, people can take part in smart and safe travel across BC. If transmission rates remain low, you can also expect further opening up in the education sector as well as in the movie and TV industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As we move into a new phase of BC\u2019s Restart Plan, there\u2019s still lots more work to be done if our province is going to achieve the long-term recovery we all deserve.<\/p>\n

Restaurants and tourism are cornerstones of BC\u2019s economy \u2013 with over 190,000 British Columbians working in the hospitality industry. As we enter phase three, this sector will continue to re-open. But it\u2019s still among the parts of our economy hardest hit by COVID-19.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019ve announced a new wholesale pricing model that will allow businesses with liquor licenses to purchase beer, wine, and spirits at reduced cost, so more restaurants can reopen and more people can get back to work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Everyone needs a secure, affordable place to call home in their community. Last week, your BC NDP government announced opening or starting construction on hundreds of new affordable homes across the Lower Mainland.<\/p>\n

Projects include 85 homes for families and individuals in North Vancouver and 49 affordable units in Maple Ridge. These projects are among the more than 23,000 new homes that are complete or underway throughout the province.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
