It was the deadliest massacre in Canadian history.<\/p>\n<p>We now know that the killer began his shooting spree by assaulting his intimate partner. This type of violence isn\u2019t rare in Canada. In 2019, a woman or girl was killed every three days in this country.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government promised a plan to address violence against women. It hasn\u2019t happened and that\u2019s unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canada needs a National Action Plan on Violence Against Women and Girls \u2013 now.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Write to Minister Monsef and urge her to take action.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.donewaiting.ca\/plan_vaw?e=ec13b3c681751064406085066ecd9735&amp;utm_source=canadianlabour&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=eml_dw_mcw_gbv_may&amp;n=1\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.donewaiting.ca\/plan_vaw?e%3Dec13b3c681751064406085066ecd9735%26utm_source%3Dcanadianlabour%26utm_medium%3Demail%26utm_campaign%3Deml_dw_mcw_gbv_may%26n%3D1&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1590620519845000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEv29uM3IdkZRnDHnBlpJZg3EqHgw\">http:\/\/www.donewaiting.ca\/plan_vaw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Canada\u2019s labour movement recently won paid domestic violence leave across the country. We couldn&#8217;t have done it without you.<\/p>\n<p>We now must go further.
