Folks all across BC, in nearly every sector, are affected by the economic impact of COVID-19. That\u2019s why we\u2019re establishing a range of measures to protect British Columbians\u2019 economic security, including the BC Emergency Benefit for Workers.<\/p>\n

This benefit opened to applications on May 1 \u2013 International Workers\u2019 Day. It provides a one-time, tax-free payment of $1,000 for people whose ability to work has been impacted by the pandemic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Many small businesses have faced hardship in this unprecedented crisis. We\u2019re working to help them stay in business.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a new federal-provincial program, thousands of small businesses in BC will see their monthly rent reduced by at least 75%. The province will contribute an estimated $80 million to this $300 million program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
