For people here in BC, across Canada, and around the world, this is an unprecedented time. And we\u2019re committed to decisive action to support British Columbians.<\/p>\n

Your BC NDP government is still rolling out the COVID-19 Action Plan to help anyone impacted by the pandemic. It\u2019s our goal to make sure nobody gets left behind.<\/p>\n

To help you get the support you need, we\u2019ve put together \u2013 and are regularly updating \u2013 a list of relevant resources for people, families, and businesses in BC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Our province is going to make it through this crisis largely thanks to the incredible efforts of essential workers. As we reach the end of Education Week 2020, it\u2019s the perfect time to look at the extraordinary contributions BC\u2019s teachers have made.<\/p>\n

Writing in the Vancouver Sun, Education Minister Rob Fleming says: \u201cAs educators begin personally connecting with students and delivering lesson plans by phone or online, they have taken their creativity and compassion to a whole new level.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For many of us, this is the most stressful time we have known. Even people who have never experienced mental health issues are feeling the need for a little extra support.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019ve announced a big expansion of existing mental health programs, as well as the introduction of new programs, and enhanced virtual services \u2013 some available free of charge.<\/p>\n

John Horgan: \u201cI want you to know that you are not alone. Our government is working to give you more options for mental health support as we all stay home to prevent the spread of this virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This past Monday, Vaisakhi was celebrated by people across BC and around the world. As with other recent religious festivals, celebrations looked a little different this year.<\/p>\n

Wishing the province\u2019s Sikh and South Asian community a happy Vaisakhi and birth of the Khalsa, John Horgan drew attention to the community\u2019s important work supporting those impacted by COVID-19, including a national blood drive.<\/p>\n

Premier Horgan: \u201cToday, and through Sikh Heritage Month, I wish health and happiness to the Sikh community and to all British Columbians celebrating this day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
