The economic impact of COVID-19 has made it hard for many people to pay their rent. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve introduced the Temporary Rental Supplement, which provides financial support of up to $500 for three months.<\/p>\n

Applications for this supplement are now open. If you\u2019ve been impacted and think you may be eligible, learn more and apply today at the BC Housing website.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Vulnerable people in the community need our support to stay safe during this crisis \u2013 so, on Tuesday, we announced a partnership with the hotel industry, local governments, and non-profits. So far, we\u2019ve confirmed 900 spaces in 23 sites to help folks self-isolate.<\/p>\n

These spaces will be available to people experiencing homelessness, those without a safe place to stay, and folks who have COVID-19 and need somewhere to recover in isolation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As Premier John Horgan said: \u201cAll of us are in this together.\u201d That means everyone working together to get BC and Canada through this crisis.<\/p>\n

John\u2019s team is coordinating with the federal government to ensure support is offered to those in need \u2013 and to make sure people know what kind of help is available.<\/p>\n

Our federal partners are offering the Canada Emergency Response Benefit, which provides folks economically impacted by COVID-19 with financial support for up to 16 weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This long weekend will look a little different for people in BC. Instead of gathering in-person with friends and family, we\u2019ll find other ways to mark this weekend while protecting our health and the health of those close to us.<\/p>\n

To the Jewish community celebrating Passover and the Christian community celebrating Easter, have a happy and safe holiday. Please stay home this weekend \u2013 unless, like the Easter Bunny, you have a special eggs-emption.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
