When John Horgan formed government in July 2017, he promised to build a better BC. Now, 28 months later, it\u2019s a great time to take stock of the progress our province has made.<\/p>\n

This fall session alone, we\u2019ve taken real action on the environment with the Climate Change Accountability Act, held big oil to account for price gouging, and made a wide range of reforms to improve affordability \u2013 all this plus low unemployment, high wage growth, and balanced budgets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For most British Columbians, a cellphone is not a luxury \u2013 it\u2019s a necessity for life, work, and family today. But a new report shows the cost of having a cellphone is going up in BC, contracts are confusing, and many people don\u2019t know what they\u2019re paying for.<\/p>\n

John Horgan has put Maple Ridge-Mission MLA Bob D\u2019Eith in charge of addressing the frustration many of us feel with cellphone billing. Bob commented: \u201cWe\u2019re fighting for the seniors and families telling us first-hand they\u2019re vulnerable to aggressive sales tactics and hidden fees.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To build a better BC, it\u2019s essential that we recognize and safeguard Indigenous peoples\u2019 human rights \u2013 and create a path to reconciliation based on collaboration and respect.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Bill 41 was passed unanimously, making BC the first Canadian province to enact the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in law. If you support our work to create meaningful reconciliation, please let us know.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
