{"id":6077,"date":"2018-12-21T00:46:11","date_gmt":"2018-12-21T00:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/?p=6077"},"modified":"2018-12-21T00:52:53","modified_gmt":"2018-12-21T00:52:53","slug":"g4s-pre-board-screening-personnel-local-lodge-16-vancouver-potential-sick-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/?p=6077","title":{"rendered":"G4S &#8211; PRE-BOARD SCREENING PERSONNEL  LOCAL LODGE 16 \u2013 VANCOUVER  POTENTIAL SICK OUT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align:center\" class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>POTENTIAL SICK OUT<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear Brothers and Sisters:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> We have been advised by counsel for G4S Secure Solutions Ltd. that they are being told that some Members may be planning to participate in a \u201cbook off\u201d on Friday, December 21, 2018.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IAM is not aware of any organized \u201cbook off\u201d, but please be advised that a concerted \u201cbook off\u201d by employees would be considered as unlawful job action under the Canada Labour Code. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"237\" height=\"212\" src=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/fsdrf.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/fsdrf.jpg 237w, https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/fsdrf-60x53.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 237px) 100vw, 237px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Company has advised that they will file an expedited application with the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) for an unlawful strike declaration if there is any disruption to normal operations, and that anyone who is involved will be subject to discipline up to and including termination.
