{"id":583,"date":"2012-09-05T22:24:59","date_gmt":"2012-09-05T22:24:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/?p=583"},"modified":"2013-02-08T18:03:04","modified_gmt":"2013-02-08T18:03:04","slug":"583","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/?p=583","title":{"rendered":"Interest Arbitration &#8211; August 15 &#038; 16, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Brothers and Sisters:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/union-collective-agreement.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-600\" alt=\"union-collective-agreement\" src=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/union-collective-agreement-300x129.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a>As we have previously communicated to you, we attended the Interest Arbitration on August 15 &amp; 16,\u00a02012 with regards to our outstanding Collective Agreement. There have been significant changes that\u00a0have been ordered\/agreed to in the Collective Agreement and below is a brief synopsis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Defined Part-time\/ Full-time<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Subcontract Protection<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Additional Day of Bereavement Leave for Immediate Family<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Improved Restrictions on Shift Modifications<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Protected Shift Give Away and Trade Privileges<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Introduced Vacation Bid Language and Improved Vacation Provisions<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Additional Day of Paid Sick Leave and Improved Sick Leave Provisions<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Reimbursement for CATSA Required Medical Documentation and\/or Certificates<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Protected Benefit Coverage\/Levels and Extended Benefit Coverage for 90 days to Laid Off\u00a0employees<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 IAM &amp; AW Multi-Employer Pension Fund at 4% (effective April 1, 2013) with no obligatory\u00a0employee contribution<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 COLA, VRSC Improvements \u2013 Formula Wage Rate Increased Annually<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Wage Increases as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>1.5% October 1, 2012<\/li>\n<li>2.0% April 1, 2013<\/li>\n<li>2.5% April 1, 2014<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>3-year deal expiring March 31, 2015<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Negotiating Committee for all their hard work and\u00a0dedication throughout this difficult process. The Committee fought hard to improve your work rules over\u00a0the last year. We are now setting up training sessions for the Chief Stewards throughout the region. The\u00a0Committee is currently reviewing all documents and are preparing a detailed snapshot of the changes to\u00a0your Collective Agreement.
