Canada\u2019s unions are throwing their might behind this issue because far too many Canadians are struggling to pay for even basic medicines. But big pharma is fighting back in a big way.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re flooding social media and the country\u2019s newspapers claiming that changes to drug pricing would mean less research, development, and cutting-edge drugs.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s simply not true, but their attacks prove that we\u2019ve successfully made this into a national, urgent issue. While we have the pressure on, I need you to send a quick email to your MP telling them you support universal pharmacare.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Canadians pay some of the highest rates in the world for medications that can be purchased for far, far less in other countries.<\/p>\n

Universal pharmacare would allow for bulk purchasing\u2014allowing everyone with a health care plan to access the medications they need, while saving all of us, governments included, billions of dollars.<\/p>\n
