When Ontario\u2019s government increased minimum wage\u00a0to $14\/hr, Tim Hortons immediately eliminated workers\u2019 paid breaks! They also reduced access to basic drug and dental benefits, eliminated uniform and drink allowances, and even cut employees\u2019 hours of work.<\/p>\n

We are watching what’s happening in Ontario to see how profitable, multinational corporations are responding to legislation that improves working conditions for the lowest paid workers.\u00a0These companies need to know that punishing their employees for government rules designed to support workers is just plain wrong.<\/a><\/p>\n

BC’s Fight for 15 campaign is organizing two events as part of the Canada-Wide Day of Action in support of workers at Tim Hortons. We are holding an information leaflet and sign waving event at two local Tim Hortons locations this Friday, January 19<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>: one in the morning in Surrey, and the second in the afternoon in Vancouver. Details are below.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time to send Tim Hortons and its parent company, Restaurant Brands International (RBI), a strong message \u2013 stop punishing your workers!<\/a><\/p>\n
