Welcome to New Canadians Event<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

When:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Saturday, June 25th\u00a0 12 – 4 pm<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Where:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tipperary Park\/Friendship Gardens, New Westminster<\/strong><\/p>\n

4th Street & Royal Avenue – beside City Hall * Parking in front & back of City Hall + Queens Avenue @ 4th Street<\/strong><\/p>\n

Service agencies such as Mosaic, ISS of BC, Success, United Way of the Lower Mainland and the New Westminster School District have assisted the Labour Council to reach the widest possible number of refugees and new immigrant families living in the City of New Westminster.<\/p>\n

The Welcome Event will connect union leaders, their members, local government leaders and citizens with new members of their community in a relaxed and fun-filled family event.\u00a0 The event is being held in the one of the most beautiful parks right in the heart of the City. We are expecting a high turnout especially if the weather cooperates.<\/p>\n

We have an excellent line up of local artists who will entertain us along with games & activities galore for the kids.\u00a0\u00a0* Volunteers will be serving barbeque veggie\/meat\/halal hot dogs, homemade samosas, water, juice, cotton candy and more.\u00a0 * In respect of Ramadan, food is an optional feature of the event.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Come out and help give a warm welcome\u00a0 – a welcome to the beautiful City of New Westminster & a warm welcome to Canada<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is your opportunity to mix, mingle, share stories and helpful information.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The event is two days ahead of Canada’s official Multiculturalism Day<\/em><\/strong> and is five days before Canada Day<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than an event like this.<\/p>\n

* Please note that union booths are not going to be featured at this event. \u00a0 There will be an information booth sponsored by local police, fire, refugee & immigrant service groups<\/em><\/strong> only.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We look forward to seeing union leaders and members on Saturday, June 25th<\/span> 12 – 4 pm<\/span>. <\/u><\/strong>If you can volunteer, we welcome you to come @ 10:30 am<\/span> to help with the set-up.<\/p>\n
