NOMINATION NOTICE<\/u><\/strong><\/h1>\n

\u00a0LOCAL LODGE 16<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nominations- April.19th<\/sup>2016\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Elections \u2013 May.17th<\/sup>2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nominations<\/strong> will be called at the April 19th<\/sup>, 2016<\/strong> General Meeting of Local Lodge 16 for the positions listed below.<\/p>\n

POLLS WILL BE OPEN<\/strong>: May 17th<\/sup>, 2016 at 7:00 am and close at 9:00 pm<\/p>\n

LOCATION<\/strong>: 7980 RIVER ROAD, RICHMOND, BC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ten (10) Delegates to the Grand Lodge Convention<\/strong><\/p>\n

All Nomination forms MUST<\/strong> be in the hands of the Local Lodge Recording Secretary no later than 3:30 pm on April 19th, 2016.<\/p>\n

NOMINATIONS<\/strong> for the above office may be offered at the Regular Local Lodge 16 meeting on April 19th<\/sup>, 2016. Nominations will state the name of the person being nominated, the office the nomination is for, and the name of the nominator.\"01_05_2016_conventionlogo\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Both the NOMINEE<\/strong> and NOMINATOR<\/strong> must be \u201cMembers in Good Standing\u201d<\/strong> of the Local Lodge for the nomination to be accepted.\u00a0 Nominees must be a \u201cmember in good standing\u201d for at least one (1) year at the time of nomination for the nomination to be accepted and have attended at least fifty percent (50%) of the regular Local Lodge monthly meetings in the preceding twelve (12) months of their nomination, pursuant to Article 2, Section H and I of the Local Lodge Bylaws.\u00a0 (Note:\u00a0 The meeting attendance requirements do not apply where meetings are not available in the region.)<\/p>\n

Please fill out the attached Nomination form and mail by Canada Post, hand deliver or FAX to the Local Lodge Recording Secretary. More forms may be obtained from the Local Lodge offices.<\/p>\n

IAMAW CONSTITUTION \u2013 ARTICLE II \u2013 SECTION 3 \u2013 ABSENTEE BALLOTS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Members who reside in outlying Districts more than 25 miles from the designated balloting place, members who are either confined because of a verified illness or on leave qualifying under U.S. and Canadian family leave laws, or on vacation, or on official I.A.M. business approved by the Local Lodge or District Lodge or Grand Lodge, or on an employer travel assignment, or reserve military leave, as the case may be, shall be furnished absentee ballots. Members applying for an absentee ballot on the basis of residing in an outlying district more than 25 miles from the designated balloting place, shall have their eligibility to vote by absentee ballot determined by the Recording Secretary and the Secretary Treasurer before the ballot is mailed. Members found not to be eligible to vote by absentee ballot will be so notified within 10 days of the receipt of their application.<\/p>\n

Please fill out the attached Absentee Ballot Request Form and mail by Canada Post or hand delivered (Faxes not accepted) to the Recording Secretary of Local Lodge 16 no later than April 19th<\/sup>, 2016<\/u><\/strong>. \u00a0More forms may be obtained from the Local Lodge offices.<\/p>\n
