{"id":2896,"date":"2014-11-14T17:42:26","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T17:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/?p=2896"},"modified":"2014-11-14T17:42:26","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T17:42:26","slug":"g4s-preboard-screening-personnel-local-lodge-16-pacific-region-negotiations-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/?p=2896","title":{"rendered":"G4S \u2013 PREBOARD SCREENING PERSONNEL LOCAL LODGE 16 \u2013 PACIFIC REGION &#8211; NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>G4S \u2013 PREBOARD SCREENING PERSONNEL LOCAL LODGE 16 \u2013 PACIFIC REGION &#8211; NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Dear Brothers and Sisters:<\/p>\n<p>Your elected Negotiations Committee from throughout the region met in Vancouver the week of October 20 &#8211; 24, 2014 to continue preparations for Collective Bargaining with G4S.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee received training from Chris Wagoner, Director of the IAM\u2019s Education and Technology Center.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the Membership Bargaining Survey were reviewed and the Committee engaged in an in-depth discussion of the Membership\u2019s concerns, which will serve to form the Union\u2019s Bargaining Agenda.<a href=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/contractor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1384\" src=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/contractor.jpg\" alt=\"contractor\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/contractor.jpg 480w, https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/contractor-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/contractor-60x45.jpg 60w, https:\/\/iamaw16.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/contractor-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We will be engaging in coordinated Bargaining initiatives with our sister Screening Officer Local 2921 in Toronto and other Bargaining Units across Canada who are represented by both the IAM and the Steelworkers on common Screening Officer issues and concerns.<\/p>\n<p>In the Membership Bargaining Survey, Members indicated that their most preferred method of communication from the Negotiations Committee is through email. The Committee Communicator, John Vincent is building a group email account in order to provide the Membership with timely accurate updates from the Committee.
