NOMINATION NOTICE \u2013 LOCAL LODGE 16<\/p>\n

ELECTION \u2013 JULY 15, 2014<\/p>\n

Nominations will be called at the June 17, 2014 General Meeting of Local Lodge 16 for the positions listed below for a period equal to the term of the renewed Collective Agreement.<\/p>\n

POLLS WILL BE OPEN<\/strong>: July 15, 2014 at 7:00 am and close at 9:00 pm <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LOCATION<\/strong>: To Be Communicated <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(1) NEGOTIATION COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE: Nominated\/Elected from the Northern Bases, including Fort St. John and Prince George.<\/strong><\/p>\n

(1) NEGOTIATION COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE: Nominated\/Elected from the Island Bases, including Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox and Campbell River.<\/strong><\/p>\n

(1) NEGOTIATION COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE: Nominated\/Elected from the Interior Bases, including Kelowna, Penticton, Cranbrook and Castlegar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

(4) NEGOTIATION COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVE: Nominated\/Elected from the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All Nomination forms MUST <\/span><\/strong>be in the hands of the Local Lodge Recording Secretary no later than 3:30 pm on June 17, 2014. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

NOMINATIONS<\/strong> for the above office may be offered at the Regular Local Lodge 16 meeting on June 17, 2014. Nominations will state the name of the person being nominated, the office the nomination is for, and the name of the nominator. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Both the NOMINEE <\/span><\/b>and <\/span><\/span>NOMINATOR <\/span><\/b>must be <\/span><\/span>“Members in Good Standing” <\/span><\/b>of the Local Lodge for the nomination to be accepted. Nominees must be a “member in good standing” for at least one (1) year at the time of nomination for the nomination to be accepted and have attended at least fifty percent (50%) of the regular Local Lodge monthly meetings in the preceding twelve (12) months of their nomination. (Note: The meeting attendance requirements do not apply where meetings are not available in the region.) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Please fill out the attached Nomination form and mail by Canada Post, hand deliver or FAX to the Local Lodge Recording Secretary. More forms may be obtained from the Local Lodge offices.<\/p>\n

Balloting will be done by Absentee Ballot for Northern, Island and Interior Bases as defined above. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

IAMAW CONSTITUTION \u2013 ARTICLE II \u2013 SECTION 3 \u2013 ABSENTEE BALLOTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Members who reside in outlying Districts more than 25 miles from the designated balloting place, members who are either confined because of a verified illness or on leave qualifying under U.S. and Canadian family leave laws, or on vacation, or on official I.A.M. business approved by the Local Lodge or District Lodge or Grand Lodge, or on an employer travel assignment, or reserve military leave, as the case may be, shall be furnished absentee ballots. Members applying for an absentee ballot on the basis of residing in an outlying district more than 25 miles from the designated balloting place, shall have their eligibility to vote by absentee ballot determined by the Recording Secretary and the Secretary Treasurer before the ballot is mailed. Members found not to be eligible to vote by absentee ballot will be so notified within 10 days of the receipt of their application.<\/p>\n

Please fill out the attached Absentee Ballot Request Form and mail by Canada Post or hand delivered (Faxes not accepted) to the Recording Secretary of Local Lodge 16 no later than JUNE 17, 2014<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
