BC NDP News – A budget for a #BetterBC

A budget for a #BetterBC

Building a #BetterBC
Building a stronger BC

Together, we’ve made incredible progress – and the work goes on. Budget 2020, delivered by Carole James on Tuesday, outlines our plan to keep BC moving forward, with new hospitals, schools, and child care centres, and better, more affordable services in every community.

This includes continued funding for construction projects that are creating 100,000 jobs, as well as an extra $1 billion allocated to healthcare – and we’re balancing the budget by asking the top 1% to pay a little more! We’re proving a government focused on people can build a stronger BC that works for everyone.

Back our plan for lower ICBC rates

Making life more affordable is always a top priority for your BC NDP government. As part of this, we’re making big changes at ICBC – removing expensive legal fees from the system to reduce rates by 20% and save you an average of $400.

It’s no secret that the BC Liberals left a big mess at ICBC – Attorney General David Eby called it “a financial dumpster fire”. Now, Andrew Wilkinson is fighting our changes and supporting personal injury lawyers. Think he should support lower ICBC rates instead? Add your name today.

Getting the new Pattullo bridge built

We’re investing in transportation infrastructure to help people get where they need to go – and we’re creating good jobs in the process. Continuing this important work, John Horgan has announced a replacement for the Pattullo Bridge.

This will provide a much-needed upgrade to a busy transportation link essential to many people in Surrey and across the Lower Mainland. The new bridge, with smoother connections and improved safety standards, will solve one of the region’s biggest transportation problems.

Join us for a Day of Action

The next election could come at any time, which is why we’re getting ready early. And we need your help. We have a Day of Action coming up on Saturday, February 29 – can you lend a few hours to volunteer?

Talking to voters in the community is the most important thing you can do to help. It’s also a lot of fun! Can’t make it on February 29? Don’t worry – there are plenty of other opportunities to get involved. Sign up now, and we’ll connect you with a local campaign.
