G4S – PRE-BOARD SCREENING PERSONNEL LOCAL LODGE 16 – PACIFIC REGION NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – OCTOBER 18, 2018

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – OCTOBER 18, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Further to our bulletin of September 27, 2018, no agreement was reached between the parties to extend the conciliation period. We entered into the mediation period on September 30, 2018 and resumed discussions, October 2, 4 & 11, 2018 with the assistance of our Mediator. The parties were also scheduled to meet on October 12, 2018, however, the Company declined to meet.

Additional mediation dates have been scheduled on October 30 – November 2, 2018.

We are extremely disappointed with the lack of progress in Collective Bargaining. We want to provide you with a tentative agreement that recognizes your contributions and rewards your hard work and commitment.

Issues that are of critical importance to the Membership, including but not limited to job security, seniority, scheduling provisions, shift trades/picks-ups/give-aways, compensation and benefits, are under attack. We will not agree to the Company’s scorched earth bargaining agenda.

Your Negotiations Committee has been and will continue to fight to improve upon and protect these provisions.

We will continue to keep you apprised of any developments in the process.

Thank you for your patience and support. Remember to always work safe.

In Solidarity,

Tania Canniff, General Chairperson Todd Haverstock, General Chairperson
