BCFED – Your hard work is paying off

Your hard work is paying off

Today, low-wage workers in BC will get a significant raise. BC’s minimum wage is increasing from $11.35/hr to $12.65/hr. Also liquor servers will get a lift to $11.40/hr.

By June 1, 2021, the liquor server wage will be phased out and all minimum wage workers will get a $15.20/hr minimum wage!

This victory was achieved because of your support and advocacy. It’s a big step forward for our province. You were among the sixty thousand British Columbians who signed our petition calling for a $15 per hour minimum wage with no exceptions. You can stand proud knowing you made a significant difference for workers in BC!

We’ve launched our next campaign to support working people. It’s called Level the Playing Field and you can check out the website at leveltheplayingfield.ca. For too long workers have struggled to get fair treatment from their employers, so we are demanding critical improvements to workers rights – like paid sick leave and better enforcement of BC’s employment standards. We hope you will be a part of it.

Thank you for your ongoing support for this important campaign, and we look forward to working with you to improve other worker rights!

In solidarity,

Irene
