The certification the IAM is seeking with the CIRB includes Point Leads.
The initial proposed certification from the company did not specifically include the Point Leads. However, they have since agreed to a bargaining unit description that does include the Point Leads.
It is the IAM’s position that, once the certification is issued by the CIRB, any changes to the Point Lead duties and responsibilities should be the subject of collective bargaining.
