The IAM will be filing an application for certification with the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) on November 1, 2011, to represent ALL IAMAW Members that we currently represent in ALL the (10) ten Pacific Region airports.
We will also be making application to represent the Screening Personnel in Castlegar, who were previously a non-union location.
Our lawyers will be at the CIRB, along with the lawyers for the other unions who represent Screening Officers to make sure all members are well-represented and protected.
It is important to understand that this process may take several weeks and as the process unfolds we will keep you informed every step of the way.
