BCFED Together 2015 Conference, Organizing, Innovating, Leading – November 16-18, 2015, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Vancouver
The BCFED Together 2015 Conference “Organizing, Innovating, Leading” will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver on November 16-18, 2015. The theme of this year’s Conference is organizing. In particular we will explore organizing to build union density, mobilize our members, support community partnerships and effect political change. More than 300 activists from BC are expected to participate.
The Conference will include keynote presentations, panel presentations, and workshops organized into four streams. In addition to the Conference agenda, there will be several special events. On Sunday, November 15th, there will be a Human Rights and Diversity Forum. On Monday, November 16th, there will be a reception featuring live salsa music and dancing. On Tuesday, November 17th, the Labour Heritage Centre and SFU Labour Studies have teamed up to present a special evening with Guy Standing, “The Precariat: The New Dangerous Class. Organizing the Next Generation of Workers.”
The early bird rate for the Conference is $300. This rate is available until October 17th. Registration for the Conference is now open at http://conference.bcfed.ca/together/.
If you prefer to do group registration, spots can be reserved and payment can be accepted in bulk. However, individual attendees will be required to register themselves through the website in order to secure spots in their chosen workshop. Participants should choose the “my union is paying for my registration fee” option on the registration page. Spaces in workshops are limited so please have your delegates register early. If you wish to do group registration, please email dbaker@bcfed.ca.
