NOMINATION/ELECTION NOTICE

GENERAL CHAIRPERSONS – WESTERN REGION

ELECTION – NOVEMBER 12, 2015

In accordance with Article 11.03 of the Transportation District 140 Bylaws, nominations for candidates will take place at the regular Local Lodge 16 Meeting on September 15, 2015, commencing at 15:30, at 7980 River Road, Richmond, BC.imagesCAH81BjbhjbXL

Elections will be held on November 12, 2015 for the General Chairperson Positions in the Western Region as identified below. The term of office will begin January 1, 2016 for a four (4) year term.

POLLS WILL BE OPEN: November 12, 2015 at 06:00 am and close at 20:00 pm

LOCATION: Union Offices, 7980 River Road, Richmond, BC

Please ensure that you bring one (1) piece of picture identification on election day.

The Five (5) Western Region General Chairperson Positions to be elected are as follows:

One (1) Air Canada, General Chairperson:

o To be elected from and by Air Canada Technical Operations, Airports/Cargo and Clerical Members – Western Region

One (1) Service, General Chairperson:

o To be elected from and by all Service Group Members – Western Region

Three (3) At Large, General Chairperson(s):

o To be elected from and by all Members – Western Region

IAMAW CONSTITUTION – ARTICLE II – SECTION 3 – ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Members who reside in outlying Districts more than 25 miles from the designated balloting place, members who are either confined because of a verified illness or on leave qualifying under U.S. and Canadian family leave laws, or on vacation, or on official I.A.M. business approved by the Local Lodge or District Lodge or Grand Lodge, or on an employer travel assignment, or reserve military leave, as the case may be, shall be furnished absentee ballots. Members applying for an absentee ballot on the basis of residing in an outlying district more than 25 miles from the designated balloting place, shall have their eligibility to vote by absentee ballot determined by the Recording Secretary and the Secretary Treasurer before the ballot is mailed. Members found not to be eligible to vote by absentee ballot will be so notified within 10 days of the receipt of their application.

Please fill out the attached Absentee Ballot Request Form and mail by Canada Post or hand deliver (Faxes not accepted) to the Recording Secretary of Local Lodge 16 no later than OCTOBER 12, 2015. More forms may be obtained from your Chief Steward (s) or the Local Lodge offices.
